Sweet Mesquite

Daddy had to go out of town for 8 days on a business trip. Needless to say, we were very sad to be without him. But as the most thoughtful person I know, he planned ahead and prepared a gift a day for Avery and myself. In this picture Avery is showing off the new duck game she received and the Froot Loops necklace that we made from the cereal daddy left us. We decided to take a little road trip of our own as well, and visited a college friend of mine named Cori in Mesquite, NV. Her husband is deployed in Iraq for 15 months, so I really can't complain about my measly 8 days alone! Here are some photos of the kids at the park near her parents' house. We went to nearby St. George, UT for a day, and took some cute pictures at the temple. Now daddy's back in town and life is good again. Here's baby Alex trying out his Bumbo chair for the first time---not sure if he likes it yet.

Hey! It looks like you guys are doing so well! Did you know that Nicole and Caleb Tucker are living in St. George now?

I bet you are glad to have Daddy back! That is hard, but you are right months would be even harder. Way to go taking a trip with your kids! I am impressed!
